Woman dies in rollover crash near Strip

A 35-year-old woman is dead after a rollover crash near the Las Vegas Strip on Saturday morning, according to police.

Metro officers were called just before 10:30 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash at Paradise Road and Sands Avenue, according to traffic logs.

A woman was traveling east on Sands in a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, west of Paradise, when her vehicle left the road, struck a group of trees and overturned, Metro Lt. Steve Summers said.

The woman was pulled from the car by the Fire Department and pronounced dead at the scene, he said. She was the only person in the vehicle.

This is the 56th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction.
