A portion of North 14th Street in downtown Las Vegas was shut down for more than five hours Wednesday while police tried to arrest a man who was holed up inside a home.

Metro responded just after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to a home on the 300 block of North 14th Street to take a wanted man into custody. The man refused to leave his house, but was taken into custody by Metro’s SWAT team about 3 p.m.
