3 McCarran Airport Connector ramps to close this week

Three ramps linking the 215 Beltway and the Airport Connector to McCarran International Airport will be closed late Thursday and early Friday for a continuing construction project.

Ramps will close between 9 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.

Affected ramps will include the southbound Airport Connector to the eastbound Beltway; eastbound Beltway to the northbound connector; and westbound Warm Springs Road to westbound Beltway.

Closures are needed for crews to expand a section of a bridge that carries Beltway traffic over the connector.

Clark County officials are recommending Russell Road and Tropicana Avenue as alternative routes to and from the airport.

Previously enacted closures will remain in place, including the ramp that carries traffic from Sunset Road to the southbound connector. Also, access to the northbound Airport Connector from George Crockett Road remains closed.

Lanes will be restricted for vehicles emerging from the McCarran runway tunnel.

The closures are a part of Phase 2 of the connector project, which includes construction of a flyover bridge connecting the airport with the eastbound Beltway.
