A Las Vegas police officer was injured Wednesday morning after he was struck by a vehicle in the west valley.

About 2:20 a.m., the motorcycle officer was investigating a crash on Durango Drive, near Vegas Drive, when he was struck by a vehicle, according to Metropolitan Police Lt. Chris Holmes.

Holmes said the officer was taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries.

Hours earlier, another Metro officer was hospitalized as a precaution after a crash in the east valley. No one was injured in that crash.
