Southbound I-15 backing up as travelers leave Las Vegas

If you’re driving home toward California on Interstate 15 Sunday, make sure you bring snacks, pop in an audio book or simply delay your drive, because you will be stuck in traffic.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is alerting drivers to expect long delays and traffic cameras show bumper to bumper traffic near Primm on southbound I-15.

Traffic was shutdown, but has since been reopened, on southbound 95 at state Route 163, while California Highway Patrol investigated an “incident” about 4:30 p.m., NHP trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said. It was announced that all lanes reopened about an hour later.

No traffic accidents have been reported on the 15, but in the past, they have backed up traffic even further.
