Uber to begin McCarran airport service Tuesday morning
December 7, 2015 - 8:20 pm
Uber, the larger of two ride-hailing companies licensed in the state, will begin service at McCarran International Airport Tuesday morning.
The Review-Journal learned late Monday that cars will be permitted to pick up and drop off passengers legally beginning at 6 a.m.
Company officials said they did not announce plans earlier because they don't want drivers to attempt to operate before the scheduled start time since they would continue to be cited by airport officers.
Service at McCarran had been delayed because the company did not want to disclose the identities of its drivers to McCarran officials.
Lyft, the other ride-hailing service allowed to operate in the state, began service at McCarran in late October.
