More unseasonably warm weather on tap for Sunday

If you liked Saturday's sunny skies, you're in luck. Sunday promises to offer much of the same unseasonably warm weather.

A persistent high pressure weather system is keeping temperatures nearly 10 degrees higher than the seasonal average, and the warmth is here to stay through the weekend and the following week.

National Weather Service meteorologist Andy Gorelow said Saturday's high temperature was 76 degrees, and the overnight low into Sunday is expected to be 49 degrees. Sunday will see a high of 76 degrees and a low of 49, Gorelow said.

Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny, and have thin "scattered high clouds," Gorelow said.

Late February temperatures are usually about 64 degrees during the day, according to the weather service.

There is no chance of rain in the coming week, and the only threat to the early spring Las Vegas has enjoyed recently are mild, northerly breezes projected for Monday and Tuesday. Those winds are expected to be between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, Gorelow said.

Monday's temperature will be about 76 degrees during the day, and temps should linger in the 70s all week.
