Outlook: Blackwell finished third in the Sunrise Region meet last year, and will be looked to for leadership as the Wolves return only two lettermen.
“We’re potentially looking to have a girls and boys 2017 region champion and qualifying both programs into the state meet,” said Sneed.
The Sky Pointe cross country teams are among the favorites to win the Class 5A boys and girls state titles, even though the school is about a third the size of most 5A schools.
The Coronado girls tennis team last week defeated Palo Verde, which has won five straight Class 5A state championships, and has its sights set on a state title.
