Bishop Gorman senior Zach Collins was named the Gatorade Nevada Boys Basketball Player of the Year on Thursday.
The 7-foot Gonzaga commit averaged 17.3 points and 14 rebounds this season, while leading the Gaels to a 25-7 record and their fifth consecutive Division I state title.
Collins, the No. 32 recruit in the Class of 2016 on Rivals.com, became Gorman’s third consecutive winner of the award and ninth overall for the program.
Chase Jeter, who plays at Duke, took home the award last season, and Noah Robotham, now playing at Akron, won in 2013-14 for Gorman.
