Nevada on Monday reported that 1,224 people were hospitalized with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases in the state, surpassing the peak of the virus’ second wave last summer.

Nevada on Wednesday reported 692 new coronavirus cases and six deaths over the preceding day as the state’s COVID-19 test positivity rate continued to increase.
The new report pushed the state’s totals to 326,878 cases and 5,621 deaths. The two-week moving average of new cases increased slightly to 118.
Nevada’s two-week positivity rate, which essentially tracks the percentage of people tested for COVID-19 who are found to be infected, dropped slightly to 3.4 percent.
New cases were higher than the two-week moving average of new cases, which increased to 271 per day. The new report pushed the state’s case total to 313,680.
Many of those who are not yet eligible to receive doses under state rules are using a “Vaccine Hunters” Facebook group to cut in line.
