Mets’ Yoenis Cespedes leaves game with hamstring injury

NEW YORK — New York Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes needed to be helped off the field after pulling his left hamstring while running to second base in the fourth inning of Thursday’s game against Atlanta.
Cespedes left last Thursday’s loss to Philadelphia with a cramp in his left hamstring and returned to the lineup Wednesday.
He hit a one-hop double to right-center off R.A. Dickey and was jogging into second base when he pulled up. When he reached second, Cespedes bent over, hands on both knees.
Cespedes had one arm over the shoulder of head athletic trainer Ray Ramirez and the other over the shoulder of first base coach Tom Goodwin as he limped slowly back to the Mets dugout.
