LAKE MEAD — Heavy winds and powerful summer thunderstorms slowed fishing down over the weekend. Between storms, fishing has been good from boat or shore for striped bass, black bass, and catfish. Deep coves with vegetation are hiding all these warm water species. Stripers and catfish are taking anchovies.

Gentle breeze can put fear into hunt for big game

For hunters pursuing big game, it isn’t high winds from a powerful storm that worry them. It is the slight breeze felt on the back of their neck that scares them the most.

 
Austin City Council votes for new stadium to bring MLS team

Crew owner Anthony Precourt has been courting Austin for a potential move since late 2017 and has sought a deal to build a 20,000-seat stadium on 24 acres of city property in time for the 2021 MLS season. Austin is the largest metropolitan area in the country without a major league sports franchise.
