Former Rebel Okonoboh declares for NBA Draft

Goodluck Okonoboh, who left the UNLV basketball team in November but never transferred to another school, announced Sunday he was declaring for the NBA Draft.

The 6-foot 10-inch sophomore forward is the fifth Rebel since the season ended to declare early for the draft. A new rule allowing players to take more time to make a final decision means more players announce they intend to go pro while leaving open the option to return.

“Making this decision was very difficult for me,” Okonoboh said in a long statement he posted on Twitter. “In no way was my decision to leave a reaction to one event, but rather a thought out decision to reach my full potential.”
