England-based adventurer James Kingston is making a lot of palms sweat across the world after filming himself climbing up the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
On YouTube, Kingston says he originally wanted to buy tickets to the tower's second platform before climbing the rest of the way, but changed his mind after seeing how many tourists were there. Kingston and an accomplice then decided to sneak around security and climb up from the ground.
"We started the climb at 1 a.m. narrowly avoiding the patrolling security, which seemed more like the French army as they were in full camo (and) had massive guns, (and) wormed our way through what seemed like endless CCTV cameras," he explained.
Kingston and his accomplice made it to the top, but almost blew their cover after entering what appeared to be a security surveillance room. They were greeted with the sound of an alarm and a blaring walkie talkie, prompting them to scale back down the tower and hide.
Their punishment? A promise they wouldn't climb the tower again for at least three years.
