Nevada officials launch voter registration drive

CARSON CITY — The push is on to register voters for the Nov. 8 general election.

Gov. Brian Sandoval issued a proclamation Wednesday declaring September as Voter Registration Month in Nevada. In conjunction, Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske said her office will focus on making sure eligible voters are aware of registration deadlines and requirements.

Residents with a valid driver’s license or identification card from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles can register to vote online at www.registertovoteNV.com. Current registered voters can also update or change their registration information online.

The secretary of state’s website also has registration forms that can be printed, filled out, signed and mailed to local election offices.

The deadline to mail voter registration applications for the November election is Oct 8. Residents can register online or in person through Oct. 18.
