Flash flood watch in effect until Sunday in Las Vegas Valley

A string of showers and possible flash flooding Saturday will bring the temperature high down 15 degrees below normal in the Las Vegas Valley.

“We’ll have a few showers here and there, some heavy at times, but exactly where they hit in the valley is still in question,” meteorologist Andy Gorelow said.

With a 50 percent chance of rain all day Saturday, a flash flood watch will be in effect through late Sunday. The chance for showers decreases to 20 percent Sunday and Monday, the weather service said.

Saturday will be “nice and cool,” Gorelow said, with a forecast high of 82 degrees. The normal temperature high for this time of the year is 97 degrees.

Temperatures will begin to climb near normal starting Sunday. It is expected to reach 93 degrees, the weather service said. By Monday, the temperature high should hit 97 degrees, followed by a 98-degree high on Tuesday and a 94-degree high Monday.
