Warm weekend forecast in Las Vegas Valley, cooler next week

Above-normal temperatures are in store for the Las Vegas Valley this weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Mostly sunny skies paired with no chance of rain will make for a “pretty boring week” in the valley, meteorologist Jim Harrison said.

Warmer temperatures will kick off with a high of 89 degrees on Friday, followed by forecast highs around 90 on Saturday and Sunday. Winds between 10 and 20 mph are expected through Sunday.

“Over the weekend, we’re several degrees above normal then dropping several degrees below,” Harrison said.

Starting Monday, a low pressure system moving through the valley from the north will bring cooler temperatures, the weather service said. Monday’s high is expected to be 83.

Highs the rest of the week will hover in the low 80s, the weather service said. The average forecast high for the beginning of October is about 87 degrees.
