Woman injured in downtown Las Vegas shooting

Las Vegas police are investigating a downtown shooting late Sunday night that resulted in a woman being taken to the University Medical Center trauma unit.

The shooting took place at 137 S. 15th St. around 10:30 p.m.

According to Metro Police Department Lt. Sophia Kypreos, the woman was shot inside the property and taken to UMC with an injury that is not life threatening.

Police still were piecing together details of what took place before the shooting occurred.

Kypreos said as of early Monday morning, information on a suspect or suspects was being developed.
