Santa Fe Station gains Oyster Bar

OYSTER BAR, SANTA FE STATION, 4949 N. RANCHO DRIVE

The Oyster Bar, which opened Monday, offers the same type of seafood specialties as its sister restaurants at Texas Station, Sunset Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort and Palace Station, the site of the first, which opened 20 years ago. It has bar seating for 21 people and an open kitchen where the dishes are prepared to order in front of guests, plus a few tables. Signature dishes include pan roasts, gumbos, cioppino and fresh oysters. Here's a sample of the menu:

Starters: Caesar salad, $7.99, or $15.99 with shrimp, $17.99 with lump crab or $19.99 with lobster; New England or Manhattan clam chowder, $5.99 for a cup, $8.99 for a bowl or $9.99 for a sourdough bowl; mac and cheese, $9.99, or $14.99 with lobster or $16.99 with shrimp, crab and lobster; littleneck clams or New Zealand mussels steamers, $16.99; oysters on the half shell, $11.99 for a half-dozen or $19.99 for a dozen; lump crab cocktail, $15.99.

Gumbos: House (shrimp, crab and lobster), $22.99; crab, $20.99; lobster, $24.99; chicken, $16.99; shrimp, $18.99.

Entrees: Combo pan roast (shrimp, crab and lobster), $22.99; shrimp pan roast, $18.99; cioppino, $21.99; tail-on loup de mer fish and chips, $19.99; New England lobster roll and fries, $19.99; linguine and clams, $16.99; bouillabaisse, $24.99.
