Fire destroys under-construction home, damages two others

An early morning fire destroyed one under-construction home and damaged two others Thursday in the southwest part of the valley.

The Clark County Fire Department responded just after 1 a.m. to multiple reports of a fire in the 7300 block of Rainford Road, near South Fort Apache and Warm Springs roads.

Crews arrived to heavy smoke and fire from the second story of one home and extending into the second story of another. They had the fire under control in 36 minutes, according to Clark County Fire Chief Jon Klassen.

The fire caused about $250,000 in damage, Klassen said. One home was a total loss, the second had heavy fire damage and a third sustained minor damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
