Abandoned apartment complex in south Las Vegas damaged by fire

An abandoned apartment complex in the south central valley caught fire Monday morning, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the report of a fire at Las Vegas Boulevard South and East Agate Avenue about 5:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, personnel reported smoke and fire coming from a single-story complex.

Fast-action gave fire crews the ability to contain the fire to one unit of the complex, the release said.

Crews remained on the scene for salvage and overhaul to make sure the fire was out.

There were no injuries reported. Damages have not been estimated. The fire is under investigation.
