Coroner ID’s woman killed in crash near Searchlight

The woman killed when she was ejected from her vehicle Friday morning near Searchlight has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Laree Toft, a 70-year-old Searchlight resident, died just after 6 a.m. Friday on State Route 164 near mile marker 13, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Toft was the only occupant of the vehicle, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toft was driving a silver Toyota Camry west on the highway when it crashed. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, NHP trooper Jason Buratczuk said.

It is unclear what caused the crash.
