Henderson house fire displaces 3 adults

A Henderson house fire displaced three adults Tuesday morning.

The fire occurred in the 300 block of W. Chesapeake Way, near Pacific Avenue and West Van Wagenen Street, about 7:45 a.m., according to the Henderson Fire Department.

A resident at the home smelled smoke and discovered the fire in the garage near a clothes dryer, department spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

Firefighters observed the garage fully involved in fire at the single-story home. The two residents home at the time of the fire escaped safely, Richards said.

No injuries were reported, and the three displaced adults were assisted by American Red Cross.

The fire resulted in an estimated $60,000 in structural damage and $25,000 in damage to its contents. It was determined to be accidental.
