Man critically wounded in apparent home invasion in Henderson

A man was shot Saturday morning when two people apparently broke into a Henderson home, police said.

According to police, a call came in at approximately 7:15 a.m. Saturday to respond to 267 W. Atlantic Ave., near East Lake Mead Parkway and South Boulder Highway. Police said a man and a woman entered the home and shot a resident of the home, identified only as a 32-year-old man, multiple times. A neighbor called police after hearing the gunshots, Henderson Police Department spokeswoman Officer Michele French said Saturday

"Three juveniles were also home at the time of the invasion and were not injured," French said in a news release Saturday.

Police described the two shooters as a white man with short or shaved blond hair, and the woman as white or Hispanic with black hair, wearing black clothing. Both are thought to be in their late 20s to 30 years old, police said.

French said the man was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, but the news release updated his condition to critical.

"The home invasion does not appear to be random," the release said.

Police said anyone with information can call the Henderson Police Department at 702-4911, or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at702-385-5555.
