Man injured escaping North Las Vegas house fire Wednesday

A man was hospitalized Wednesday morning after he got hurt escaping a house fire in North Las Vegas, officials say.

Firefighters were called to the single-family one-story home at 540 Terrace Point Drive, near the intersection of Craig Road and Revere Street, about 7:15 a.m., North Las Vegas Fire Department Capt. Cedric Williams said.

He was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire was determined an accidental cooking fire. It caused $250,000 in damage, according to a release from the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire was contained within seven minutes of arrival. No firefighters were injured.
