The Clark County coroner’s office has released the name of the man who died after jumping from the Flamingo Road overpass onto Interstate 15 Sunday afternoon.
Marco Ramirez, a 23-year-old man from San Bernardino, California, was stopped by police for jaywalking on Flamingo just before 2 p.m.
Police said Ramirez appeared to be distressed, so officers called for medical assistance. Before help could arrive, Ramirez ran from the officers and jumped from the bridge into the southbound lanes of I-15. He was hit by two cars and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner has not yet determined Ramirez’s cause and manner of death.
