Police arrest woman in connection with three hit-and-run car crashes

A woman was arrested and a white pickup she was driving appears to be connected to three separate hit-and-run wrecks in the valley Monday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.

The crashes involved multiple vehicles and a downed light pole, Metro officer Laura Meltzer said. One person was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

Police were first called at 12:13 p.m. to Bonanza Road and Main Street. A white pickup hit and knocked down a light pole, Meltzer said. The driver fled the scene.

About 20 minutes later and 3 miles away, a white truck hit a sedan at the intersection of Pecos Road and Stewart Avenue, the driver fled, Meltzer said. No one was injured in that crash.

Four minutes later and 2½ miles away, a white truck crashed into "several" vehicles at the intersection of Lamb Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, Meltzer said. A person in that crash was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Several people followed the white truck and Metro officers took a woman into custody in a parking lot near Fremont Street and St. Louis Avenue, less than 1½ miles from the third crash.

Police believe the woman arrested was involved in the three crashes but the investigation continues, Meltzer said. It wasn't immediately clear what charges the driver is facing.
