Police officer injured after being dragged by vehicle

A Las Vegas police officer was dragged by a vehicle during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon in the central valley, according to Metro.

At 1:46 p.m., police attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation when the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, Metro spokesman Michael Rodriguez said.

The car was traveling east on West Sahara Avenue and was stopped at Arville Street, Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez wasn’t sure how the incident unfolded.

The officer suffered minor injuries, including a knee injury, police said. Medical response was requested.
