Southwest valley pot bust uncovers forgery operation

One man was arrested Friday afternoon after a marijuana and forgery bust in the southwest valley.

Las Vegas police arrested 23-year-old Dylan Davis after they searched a home in the 7000 block of Sombra Way and found about 80 pot plants, 50,000-100,000 holographic ID laminates and about 2,000 blank credit cards.

Fraud and forgery detectives described the lab as “highly sophisticated,” said Metro spokesperson Jesse Roybal.

Davis, who had prior arrests for violence, is being held at the Clark County Detention Center on several drug possession charges and one charge of drug possession with intent to sell. His bail is set at $30,000.

Davis was operating without a medical card and the home, near South Rainbow Boulevard and West Hacienda Avenue, was a rental, according to a police official who didn’t want to be named.

That official also said that police would be submitting the case to the U.S. attorney’s office for consideration of federal charges.
