Woman wanted in connection with Louisiana robbery arrested in Las Vegas

A fugitive from Louisiana wanted in connection to an armed robbery in October was arrested in Las Vegas Tuesday morning, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a statement.

Janel Zachary, 19, was wanted in Louisiana by the East Baton Rouge sheriff’s office and had a warrant charging her with five counts of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery with the use of a firearm, attempted armed robbery with the use of a firearm, aggravated battery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, the release said.

Zachary was arrested by the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force near East Desert Inn Road and Hollywood Boulevard. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center pending her extradition to Louisiana, the release said.

“This is yet another example of how our joint agency efforts are apprehending fugitives who think they can hide in the valley,” District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye said.
