Las Vegas police promote ‘Slow Your Roll’ to get ready for school year
Clark County School District students start classes on Monday, and Las Vegas police want drivers to be prepared.
Police are reminding drivers to change their driving habits and prepare for a heavier volume of traffic and more children crossing the streets in a campaign called “Slow Your Roll.”
Metro and Southern Nevada law enforcement agencies want drivers to slow down this school year.
“Drivers and parents play an important role in enhancing safety near schools by following safe driving practices,” police said.
Some of these practices include obeying traffic laws and speed limits, not passing other cars or making U-turns in school zones, and avoiding double parking and stopping on crosswalks.
If a driver receives a citation in a school zone, fines are doubled.
