64-year-old motorcyclist dies after south valley accident

A 64-year-old man involved in a south valley motorcycle crash on Friday has died, according to Las Vegas police.

Gary Stahl, of Las Vegas, was eastbound on his 2015 Harley Davidson Dyna Fat Bob on Windmill Lane about 7:50 a.m., approaching Paradise Road, when he collided with a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS that made a left turn onto Windmill from Paradise in front of him, Metro wrote in a release.

Stahl tried to avoid the collision when he swerved and hit the car with its front end. Stahl was thrown from the bike.

He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries. Metro announced early Saturday that he died from his injuries about 9:30 p.m.

The driver of the Camaro, 56-year-old John McCarthy, suffered minor injuries, police said.

This marks Metro’s 26th traffic-related fatality for 2015.
