Sarah Deleon graduated with high honors from Southeast Career and Technical Academy on June 13 with a cumulative GPA of 4.25.
She received an advanced honors diploma, the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence, the Millennium Scholarship, a medal from The National Society of High School Scholars for academic achievement and excellence, a competency certificate in medical assisting, a competency certificate as a nursing assistant, mathematics, English, social studies and health occupation academic cords, and a student ambassador cord for outstanding performance.
Deleon will attend UNLV this fall and plans to major in biological sciences. She hopes to pursue a career in dentistry.
Deleon is the daughter of Jojo and Beth Deleon of Las Vegas.
Chase Dessauer, 18, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.
For his Eagle project, he built a footbridge for scientists at Warm Springs in Moapa Valley.
He plans to pursue a career in marketing and will attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Dessauer is the son of Alan Dessauer and Anna Ruzicka.
Jesse Schofield, 17, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.
He collected water, Gatorade, socks and backpacks for Las Vegas Street Teens for his Eagle project.
A 2013 graduate of Desert Oasis High School, Schofield was involved in soccer, lacrosse and was a theater tech.
He enjoys snowboarding and skateboarding in his free time.
He hopes to join the Air Force and would like to pursue a career as a firefighter.
Schofield is the son of William and Shelley Schofield of Las Vegas.
Dexxter Collins has graduated from basic military training at Air Force Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
A 2009 graduate of Shadow Ridge High School, Collins is the son of Bruce Collins of North Las Vegas.
David Arvizu has graduated from basic military training at Air Force Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
A 2007 graduate of Coronado High School in Henderson, Arvizu is the grandson of Betty Fisher of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Prentice Caesar has graduated from basic military training at Air Force Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
A 2001 graduate of Chaparral High School, Caesar is the son of Beverly Caesar of Las Vegas.
Nicholas Price of Henderson has graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. Price majored in political science and Asian studies.
Janette Goering of North Las Vegas graduated from Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in digital simulation and gaming engineering.
Tyee Charlton of Las Vegas graduated from Maryville University in St. Louis with a doctor of physical therapy degree from Maryville’s School of Health Professions.
Melissa Zigrosser of Las Vegas has graduated from the Administrative Information Management and Technology program at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y.
