Tyson Gierhart, 13, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.
Gierhart planted trees and did other landscaping at Lied Middle School for his Eagle project.
An eighth-grade student at Lied Middle School, Gierhart plays lacrosse and enjoys camping, fishing, hunting and cooking.
Gierhart is the son of Bodie and Gwen Gierhart of North Las Vegas.
Leif Hendrickx, 16, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.
Hendrickx, a member of Troop 185, painted curbs at Coronado High School for his Eagle project.
A junior at Desert Oasis High School, Hendrickx is a member of the cross country and track teams and enjoys sports and working out.
He hopes to have a career in nutrition science.
Hendrickx is the son of Louis and Catherine Hendrickx of Las Vegas.
Justin Joseph, 18, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.
Joseph, a member of Troop 256, worked with the Clark County Graffiti Abatement Program for his Eagle project.
A senior at Valley High School, Joseph is president of Varsity Quiz and HOSA Future Health Professionals.
He attained a perfect score on the ACT test and a near-perfect score on the SAT test.
He enjoys reading and community work and hopes to become a doctor.
Joseph is the son of Martin and Shyla Joseph of Las Vegas.
Sofia Shank has graduated from Air Force basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio. She earned distinction as an honor graduate.
A 2006 graduate of Sierra Vista High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree from UNLV in 2011.
Shank is the daughter of John Shank of Murrieta, Calif.

A 2012 graduate of Legacy High School, Izquierdo is the daughter of Alfredo and Marilou Izquierdo of North Las Vegas.
