National Youth Delegates/Correspondents: Of a pool of 250 chosen as delegates to the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., Tonya Augustin and Julianne Sandhu, both of Las Vegas, will represent Nevada. Additionally, Cienna Pilotin and Hannah Geeser have been selected to represent Las Vegas as National Youth Correspondents to the 2016 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason.

Honor rolls:

Bailey Gamberg, a sophomore at University of Nevada, Reno, made the fall 2015 dean’s list for the College of Liberal Arts. She is a graduate of Silverado High School and the daughter of Keith and Natalie Gamberg of Las Vegas.

Nathan Hill of Las Vegas made the fall 2015 president’s list at the University of Akron in Ohio.

Tenth-grader Oren U. Stern and 11th-grader Erik G. Carlson, both of Las Vegas, made the fall 2015 honor roll at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.

Johnlord Sy of Las Vegas has been named a Cadet of Distinction for the second grading period of the 2015-16 school year at Army and Navy Academy.

Sean Sullivan of North Las Vegas made the fall 2015 dean’s list at the University of Akron in Ohio.

Zachary Tamez of Henderson made the fall 2015 dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.

Jordyn Roark of Henderson made the fall 2015 honor roll at Montana State University Billings.

Lawrence Mansueto of Las Vegas made the fall 2015 dean’s list at Wentworth Military Academy and College in Lexington, Mo.

Graduations:

U.S. Army Pvt. Judith Rodriguez graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Rodriguez is the daughter of Dolores J. Rodriguez of Las Vegas and is a 2015 graduate of Las Vegas High School.

U.S. Army Pvt. Douglas G. Solorzano graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Solorzano is the son of Douglas and Eugenia M. Solorzano of Dunwoody, Ga. He is a 2015 graduate of Centennial High School.

U.S. Air Force Airman Austin T. Bennett graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Bennett is a 2013 graduate of Chaparral High School.

Ty Higashi of Las Vegas graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., in December.

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Arielle Lupia graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Lupia is the daughter of Stephanie Huckeba of North Las Vegas and Alberto Lupia of South Glen Falls, N.Y.; step-daughter of Raymond Huckeba of North Las Vegas. The airman graduated in 2011 from Rancho High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2015 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

U.S. Air Force Airman Kevin C. Deluna Tier graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Deluna Tier is the son of David and Susan Tier of Las Vegas. He is a 2015 graduate of East Career & Technical Academy.
