Showers heading to Las Vegas Valley Wednesday evening

The Las Vegas Valley will have scattered showers and cooler temperatures through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Wednesday’s high temperature was 76 degrees with a low temperature of 60 degrees, meteorologist Chris Outler said.

Showers Wednesday night could continue through Thursday morning and will bring cooler temperatures, the weather service said. Thursday’s expected high temperature is 70 degrees. There is a 50 percent chance of rain near the mountains, Outler said, but no rain is expected in the valley.

Friday’s high temperature is expected to be 81 degrees with a low of 57 degrees, he said. Temperatures will drop to the low 70s for Saturday and Sunday, with a 30 percent chance of rain, the weather service said.
