Nevada quest launched for 2022 winter Olympics

A team from the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, headed by Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki, will spend the spend the next couple of days at U.S. Olympic Committee workshops and meetings in Colorado Springs, Colo., as part of a push to land the 2022 games.

Report urges training workers already in Nevada

Economic growth should come from developing the work force at existing companies, rather than trying to attract out-of-state companies to Nevada, a UNLV economics professor said in a white paper sent to the governor’s office. His report, “Linking Higher Education and Workforce Development,” is a significant shift from traditional economic development policies that pour millions into advertising and tax incentives to recruit out-of-state firms.

Wells Fargo accused of forging loan documents

An attorney who represents people facing foreclosure has accused Wells Fargo of forging loan documents. In court papers filed this month in Clark County District Court, attorney Dave Crosby alleged bank employees committed forgery and fraud in making a $350,000 loan to a father of four who was unemployed at the time.
