Top athletes: Christian Cayetano (Jr.), Tristan Baker (Sr.), Jonathan Raffta (So.), Victor Sanchez (Sr.)

Outlook: Raffta was a Class 3A Southern Region qualifier in four events last year, and Cayetano (110-meter hurdles), Baker (pole vault) and Sanchez (shot put) also qualified for the region meet.

They’re among six returning lettermen for the Cowboys.

“Our overall team goal is to improve in our team scoring at the regional meet,” Francis said. “We have a young, inexperienced team with a great deal of talent that can help us achieve our goal.

“We anticipate returning to the state championship in the 400 and 800 relays and hopefully individual performances from Jonathan Raffta in the 400 and Christian Cayetano in the hurdles.”
