Wynn Las Vegas moving, expanding poker room

Wynn Resorts Ltd. is moving and expanding its Las Vegas poker operations to better serve players at the company's two Strip resorts.

In May, the company expects to open an 8,600-square-foot poker room with 28 tables adjacent on the Encore side of the Wynn Las Vegas-Encore resort. The current poker room, which will remain open until the new facility is ready, is located in Wynn Las Vegas near the space formerly occupied by the now-closed Ferrari dealership.

A price for the renovation wasn't disclosed.

Each table in the new poker room will have USB ports for on-site electronic device charging and a sports book window will be located inside the space. Wynn plans to place 35 televisions throughout the room to show live sporting events.

Wynn Resorts Director of Poker Ryan Beauregard said the new room "will set Wynn Las Vegas apart as a poker destination."

In a statement, the company said the new poker provides better access to players "and is a short walk" from the Wynn and Encore self-parking garages.
