Wednesday’s departure of the off-the-wall bonkers “American Horror Story: Coven” should’ve left a giant, crazy-shaped hole in the TV landscape.
Thankfully, “The Following” (9 p.m. Mondays, KVVU-TV, Channel 5) is back to pick up the slack.
Two episodes in and we’ve already been confronted with French-speaking twins (Sam Underwood) who dance with a corpse one week, then listen to Doris Day while cooking a meal they’ll say grace over before sharing a table with the couple they just killed.
The only thing nuttier? The backwoods accent cult leader Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) has adopted to (try to) blend in.
