Deals to consider before buying your ‘Star Wars’ tickets

In case you've spent the past 24 hours holed up inside a Tauntaun, you're well aware that tickets for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" go on sale tonight after the trailer debuts during halftime of "Monday Night Football."

Demand is so great, fans crashed several online ticketing sites throughout the U.K.

But before you buy your tickets, here are a few promotions to consider:

On Saturdays from Dec. 19 through Jan. 9, the first 500 people to see "The Force Awakens" in Imax at a Regal Cinemas location will receive a collectible ticket featuring unique art from the movie, with new tickets debuting each week. Locally, that covers the Imax theaters at Aliante, Red Rock and Sunset Station.

Cinemark is giving away exclusive 3-D "Star Wars" glasses to fans attending the first screening on Dec. 17 in the XD theaters at The Orleans and South Point. If you can't be there then, you also can pick them up with the purchase of a "Star Wars" concession combo.

And if you buy your tickets on Fandango, you'll be entered to win a trip to the "Force Awakens" world premiere as well as a collectible "Dark Side" or "Light Side" prize pack.
