Kidz Street fest at the Western
The 9th Bridge School will host its second annual Kidz Street Festival & Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in The Lot at the Western Hotel, at 899 Fremont St. The festival will feature food, games, rides and activities such as the TinkerLab and Interactive Alley, in support of the school’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) program. 9th Bridge is a private school located at 310 S. 9th St.
Bring the family for Boombox Meet
Downtown Container Park will be the site of the International Boombox Meet from 3-9 p.m. Saturday. Hosted by the Boombox Syndicate, the free event is described as “a gathering of boombox collectors and hip-hop culture enthusiasts.” It’s an all-ages event, so bring the whole family to check out vintage boomboxes, DJs, live art, dance showcases and music performances, including one by Kid Frost.
Chevelle closes concert series
Chevelle will perform a free concert from 9-10:30 p.m. Saturday to close out this season’s Downtown Rocks concert series. The show will be on the Fremont Street Experience’s 3rd Street Stage.
Theater debuts ‘Kid Sister’
“Kid Sister,” a pulp thriller about a “strung out 19-year-old single mom and “American Idol” wannabe (who) believes only one thing stands between herself and singing superstardom — her stalker ex-boyfriend,” opens at 8 p.m. today at Majestic Repertory Theater, 1217 S. Main St. See how she and her ex-con brother deal with this problem Thursdays through Sundays through Oct. 14. Tickets are $25. majesticrepertory.com
Get to know your Knights at Fan Fest
The Vegas Golden Knights will celebrate their inaugural season with a Fan Fest from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday on the Fremont Street Experience’s 3rd Street Stage. Team members are expected to walk the red carpet during the free event.
