WUHU NOODLE TO OPEN JULY 3 AT SILVERTON

WuHu Noodle is set to open July 3 at the Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, featuring Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine.

To celebrate the grand opening, an interactive parade through the casino is planned for 5 p.m. and is set to include dancers performing a traditional lion dance, Buddhas, drummers, cymbalists and a gong player. A blessing will immediately follow to grant the new eatery good luck and prosperity before officially opening to the public.

The 44-seat restaurant will feature a modern take on traditional Asian decor to complement its menu. Signature dishes including Singapore-style noodles with shrimp, shredded pork, egg, bell peppers, bean sprouts and onions with an essence of curry; shu mai with shrimp, pork and black mushrooms; and daily dim sum specials. An interactive kitchen viewing area will be part of the dining experience.

WuHu Noodle will be open for lunch, dinner and expedited service for diners on the go from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

SOUTH POINT ANNOUNCES SUMMER MEAL DEALS

Don Vito’s and Silverado Steakhouse at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, are offering Summer Meal Deals featuring pre fixe menus through Aug. 27. The custom, multi-course menus are available from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 9 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The three-course meal at Don Vito’s is $19 and includes entree choices of fettucine Alfredo, baked penne pasta or chicken manicotti.

The three-course meal at Silverado Steakhouse is $29 and includes entree choices of 6-ounce filet mignon, chicken Francaise or filet of salmon.

FERRARO’S INTRODUCES $35 PRIX FIXE MENU

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar, 4480 Paradise Road, has new seasonal menus for summer and is offering a prix fixe dinner option featuring a new family-style menu.

The family-style menu is available during dinner hours and offers three courses and a side dish. Entree choices are sporcacciona pizza, rigatoni vegetariani (seasonal vegetable ragout), salmone (oven-roasted organic salmon, warm eggplant caponata, infused olive oil) or vitello piccata (veal scaloppini in lemon-caper sauce served with broccoli rabe). A homemade dessert sampler is included.

ALIZE DEBUTS NEW COFFEE AND TEA PROGRAM

Alize at the top of the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road, has a new coffee and tea program that allows guests ordering the seven-course tasting menu to order coffee at the end of their meal, to be served from a Cona Vacuum coffee maker that is assembled and then presented at the table.

The Cona Vacuum coffee maker is manufactured in England and works by heating the water and then the coffee itself through a vacuum pot system. Boulder City-based Colorado River Coffee Roasters has created two special blends: the Red Wall and Cascadia Decaf blends.

Accompanying the coffeemaker is a three-tiered cylindrical glass container that contains honey for the tea or chantilly cream for the coffee, two types of sugar, shortbread and biscotti. The new coffee service averages 10 minutes. For guests ordering tea, loose-leaf varieties are steeped.

The tasting menu is served nightly and features three selections for each course. It begins at $145 per person.

COFFEE BEAN TO HOST TROOP SUPPORT FUNDRAISER

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Las Vegas plans to support active troops, veterans and their families by hosting the Support At Home campaign in its participating stores and online through July 5.

A contribution of $1 will be donated to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit that provides financial assistance to service members and wounded warriors, for every 12-ounce Support at Home ground coffee or 20-count Support at Home tea tin sold, or patrons can purchase Support at Home retail coffee and tea products for donation to military families.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf also plans to have bins to collect backpacks from patrons for Operation Homefront’s Back-to-School Brigade initiative.

CHOCOLATE & SPICE TO HOST CHILDREN’S CLASSES

A summer series of hands-on children’s classes are planned at Chocolate & Spice Bakery, 7293 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 8.

The July 8 class is set to feature favorite snacks, while the last class on July 22 will explore seasonal sorbets.

MERCADITO TO HOST COOKING DEMO JULY 13

Mercadito at Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to offer a Cooking Demo Mondays session July 13 on Mexican grilling and entertaining. Chefs will demonstrate their skills as guests drink and dine.

Demonstrations are $45 per person, which includes a five-course meal with cocktails, question-and-answer session and recipes. Each event is set to begin at 6 p.m., with space limited to 30 to 40 people.

WONDERLAND BAKERY PLANS CULINARY CAMP CLASSES

Wonderland Bakery, 2010 Festival Plaza Drive, No. 150, at Downtown Summerlin, has scheduled three-day baking and decorating courses as part of its Culinary Camp series. Taught by accomplished bakers and decorators, children will learn how to create baked goods using fondant, frosting, chocolate and more.

NEXT CULINARY CLASSROOM SET FOR JULY 23 AT BELLAGIO

Bellagio executive chef Edmund Wong plans to host the Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom, a series of interactive, two-hour cooking classes through Nov. 10. Wong and his culinary team will share ideas and techniques as they guide guests through the steps to creating a three-course meal. Classes will be held in the resort’s demonstration kitchen, Tuscany Kitchen.

The schedule is: Learning to Roll … Sushi and Rolls, July 23; Back to School, Aug. 27; Cupcakes & Cocktails, Sept. 29; Octoberfest, Oct. 13; and Harvesting Thanksgiving 2.0, Nov. 10.

King’s Fish House has announced the return of its annual Lobster Festival.
