Dining Pick of the Week: Lumberjacks

Lumberjacks

965 W. Craig Road, 702-487-5007

Lumberjacks advertises itself as the place “where the big boys eat,” and it’s not kidding: Portions here run large, and you’ll likely have enough for two meals. Dining on a recent Sunday morning, it was obvious that one of the main draws is the breakfast menu, which is served all day. Lumberjack-style breakfasts feature two eggs and a choice of hash browns, country potatoes or seasonal fruit and choice of toast or biscuit. Selections include 10-ounce sirloin steak ($11.49), chicken fried steak ($10.49) and corned beef hash ($9.49). The omelet menu includes the Tostada Beef Omelet ($9.99) with ground beef, lettuce, tomato, black beans, fresh guacamole, cheddar cheese, salsa, sour cream, diced green chilies and green onion. There are also skillets, including the Santa Fe Skillet ($9.99) with bacon, cheddar cheese, diced green chilies and eggs served over country potatoes and topped with salsa, guacamole, green onions and sour cream. There isn’t much on the breakfast menu that tops around $10, including the French toast, pancakes and waffles. Dinner entrees include Lumberjacks prime rib ($20.99 for a full pound and $15.99 for half), which is available Fridays and Saturdays starting at 4 p.m. There’s also charbroiled pork loin ($14.99) and chicken fried chicken ($13.99), topped with country gravy and served with mashed potatoes. The menu also features salads, sandwiches, burgers, a selection of “lighter” fare and senior breakfasts. Lumberjacks is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
