Las Vegas Grille’s barbecue uses variety of wood, techniques

Las Vegas Grille provides patrons with what co-owner Phillip Holec calls “a new view on barbecue.”

“We offer smokehouse cuisine prepared with a variety of techniques. We use six different types of wood, because each gives the meats a distinct flavor, so there’s a different wood for every different cut of meat. We also make our own applewood bacon, and six varieties of sausage are made in-house, and we also serve three original meatball recipes and all our dressings are made from scratch. Smoked meats are grilled to order.”

Barbecue orders are sold by the pound or by the piece. Handmade sausages are in their natural casing, with no nitrates or MSG.

Combination meals are offered that include a choice of beef, pork, chicken or sausages, ranging from two meats and one side for $10.99 to four meats and three sides for $23.99.

Side dishes include a range of potatoes, slaw and veggies.

A kids’ meal is offered, featuring a beef frankfurter with one side and drink for $4.49.

Las Vegas Grille, 7865 W. Sahara Ave., seats 54 patrons inside and there’s a patio that seats more than 20 people. The restaurant also does takeout and is offering complete Christmas meals to go.

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Appetizers: smoked chicken wings (10 pieces, $8.99; 20 pieces, $16.99); meatballs (taster, three meatballs, $3.99; six meatballs, $6.99; half-bucket of 12 meatballs, $12.99; “full trough” with 24½ meatballs, $21.99)

Salads: fresh lettuce and spring mix salads with cucumber and tomato ($8.99), roasted chicken salad ($8.99)

Barbecue meats: white oak roasted sirloin with red wine natural jus ($16.99 per pound); pecanwood roasted herb-crusted pork loin ($14.99 per pound); barbecue St. Louis ribs with choice of traditional or pineapple jerk sauce (taster, $8.99; half-rack, $16.99; full rack, $23.99); barbecue chicken with choice of traditional or pineapple jerk sauce (quarter-dark, $4.99, quarter-white, $6.99; half-chicken, $9.99; whole, $15.99). All include side dishes and rolls.

Sausages: Fresh Italian fennel pork sausage, fresh artisan’s pork bratwurst, smoked pork and beef kielbasa Polska, fresh Mediterranean turkey and chicken sun-dried tomato, fresh turkey and chicken thai green curry ($7.99 each). All come with a choice of regular or pretzel roll and one side.

Sandwiches: herb-crusted pork loin, Jack cheese and whole grain mustard; grilled vegetables with Swiss cheese and hummus ($8.99 each, comes with one side and choice of sourdough, marbled rye, wheat or ciabatta); sirloin with baby Swiss cheese and horseradish aioli ($9.99 with choice of bread and one side); smoked salmon with lemon garlic aioli, lettuce and tomato ($10.99 with choice of bread and one side); artisan’s meatball sandwich with havarti cheese, caramelized onion and wine sauce (regular, $8.99, large, $10.99, includes one side); sweet and sour Hawaiian meatball with rainbow slaw (regular, $8.99, large, $10.99, includes one side)

Desserts: scoop of vanilla ice cream ($1.50) cheesecake ($5.49)
