The Clark County coroner has identified the man who jumped to his death from a Mandalay Bay balcony on Aug. 18.
Jerry Hooker, 47, of Las Vegas entered a restricted area of the hotel, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, at about 6:45 p.m., Metro Lt. Timothy Hatchett said.
Hooker died after jumping from an upper-level balcony and landing on the rooftop of the valet area, Hatchett said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner ruled his death a suicide.
