Coroner’s office identifies man killed by a truck in North Las Vegas

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the man hit and killed by a truck Tuesday in North Las Vegas.

Thomas French, 76, died after he was struck by the vehicle about 4:20 p.m. near the intersection of West Craig Road and Simmons Street, North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said.

French was in a marked crosswalk when he was hit, Cavaricci said. He was struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old woman who stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

French was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

As of Wednesday, the truck’s driver does not face charges, and impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, Cavaricci said.
