Dining Pick of the Week: Kelly’s Prime Steak & Seafood

3900 S. Paradise Road, 702-791-7011

If you haven't heard, the former Ruth's Chris Steak House on Paradise Road has reopened as Kelly's Prime Steak & Seafood. Its classic steakhouse menu is known for roast prime rib, starring the 20-ounce Irish cut, served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, au jus, Yorkshire pudding and creamed horseradish. Other popular entrees are petite filet mignon and scampi, Colorado rack of lamb, Maine lobster, double-cut pork chop, sand dabs, Pasta Del Mar, diver sea scallops, 16-ounce ribeye, chateaubriand for two and Steak Diane with Madeira, shallots, mushrooms and Dijon mustard. There are soups (lobster bisque, French onion), salads (wedge, wilted spinach) and appetizers such as artisan cheese plate, filet of beef carpaccio, steamed manila clams and escargot in the shell. Two continental desserts are Strawberries Jubilee and Bananas Foster. The lunch menu has baked mac and cheese, beef tenderloin stroganoff, Kelly's fish and chips made with San Adams beer-battered halibut, pastrami Reuben with melted Gruyere, Dungeness crab cake sliders and prime rib sandwich on French baguette. Daily happy hour is from 3 to 6 p.m. Steak dinners begin at $35. Kelly's is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday. - Jack Bulavsky
