Seventh-grader Milan Frederick of Guy Elementary School has received the 2014 Young King Dreamers award, a Certificate of Commendation from Sen. Harry Reid, a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from Congressman Steven Horsford, a Citizenship Award, a Physical Education of Excellence award and is on the A Honor Roll. She is the daughter of Anthony and Vickie Frederick of North Las Vegas.
Air Force Airman Robert D. Medeiros graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Medeiros is the son of Lynette Greenstein of Las Vegas and Robert Medeiros of Waianae, Hawaii.
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Jeanneth D. Warren-Cortez graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Warren-Cortez is the daughter of Ersell and Flor Warren of Las Vegas. She is a 2001 graduate of Eldorado High School, and she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2009 from UNLV.
Fernando Rocha, a junior majoring in mathematical business economics from Las Vegas, has been named to the fall 2013 Provost’s List at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. Additionally, more than 2,000 students have been named to the university Dean’s List for fall 2013, including Joshua Lovell, a junior majoring in psychology, and Jennifer Smulo, a sophomore majoring in public relations, both from Las Vegas.
Yifan Wang of Las Vegas has been named to the Dean’s Honor Roll for the fall 2013 semester at Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City.
Brett Neighbors of Las Vegas was named to the fall 2013 honor roll list at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Wash.
Ryan Williams of Henderson earned the distinction of Faculty Honors, and Kristine Jones of Las Vegas made the Dean’s List for fall 2013 at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Mary Huggins of Las Vegas made the Lewis University Dean’s List for fall 2013. Huggins is studying economics at the university in Romeoville, Ill.
Air Force Airman Ryan Victor G. Custodio graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Custodio earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Vreneli Custodio of Las Vegas and is a 2008 graduate of Centennial High School.
Several area students made the Dean’s List for fall 2013 at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. They include: Brittney Abad, Alexandra Manning, Joseph Rekrut, Jordan Sommaggio and Shannon Zahm, all of Las Vegas. Additionally, Celina Oh of Las Vegas has earned placement on the university President’s List for fall 2013.
Celina Capone of Henderson and Stanley Howard of Las Vegas made the dean’s list in the fall 2013 semester at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y.
John Melton and of Las Vegas made the Dean’s List for the fall 2013 semester at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Conn.
