Heavy holiday traffic causing delays for California travelers on southbound I-15

Travelers found slow going on southbound Interstate 15 as many from Southern California headed for home Sunday after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Traffic on I-15 was bumper-to-bumper at times, and the California Highway Patrol reported a collision Sunday night. The incident, involving a Honda Civic and a minivan, occurred at about 7:18 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-15 near Halloran Springs Road north of Baker, Calif., according to a CHP advisory. No further information was immediately available.

Travelers on Las Vegas Boulevard also experienced delays, Nevada Highway Patrol spokeswoman trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said earlier Sunday.
